The Valdebebas Urban Development Project received final
approval in October 2005
The Valdebebas Urban Development project received final approval in October
2005, with the civil works stage starting in December of that same year.
The project consisted of two phases:
Civil Works Projects
This defines the civil works projects to be executed inside the development, with
regard to the layout and coordination of all services, such as the drinking
water distribution network, sewage lines, water pipelines, power, street
lighting, gas and communications. This block mainly includes elements for
soil excavation and relocation, paving, landscaping and site furnishings.
Complementary Construction Projects and External
Connections
All specific projects that connect the interior of the development with the existing
service networks, such as road accesses, water service and connection to
the municipal water network (Canal Isabel II) , as well as external connections
with the municipal power grid and connections with the recycled water network,
make up this category. Also included are those projects that work to restore
affected services and complementary works such as the burying of high-voltage
electric lines and the channeling of the Arroyo de Valdebebas stream.
Upon completion of the major civil works projects within the scheduled
timeframe, the finishing phase for the urban development began. Its period
of execution is estimated at 18 months and its scope includes paving of
sidewalks and roads, installing street lighting, creating parks and gardens,
planting trees, etc.
